Description
Michele Satta is a true pioneer. He was one of the winemakers who forged the great name the Bolgheri region has today. His method of choice? Blending Sangiovese with traditional Bordeaux grape varieties – creating true Super Tuscans. But, unlike many of his neighbours, he shuns larger scale winemaking, focussing on smaller vineyard areas and making boutique wines with his children, Giacomo and Benedetta, who manage the estate today. Michele fondly refers to this as his calling card. It’s a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, and Teroldego grapes that’s soft, plummy and gently spicy. Try it with a Tuscan-style steak.
