Description
The Waipara valley is 30 minutes’ drive from Christchurch in the Canterbury region, and this wine is named in honour of New Zealand’s Southern Alps, known locally as the Main Divide, which lies to the west. Some botrytized grapes were added to provide a honeyed richness. Slightly off-dry in style, the palate is attacked with wave after wave of honeysuckle, ripe apricot and lime, with a minerally undercurrent and zippy acidity. Rich and viscous, this wine can be enjoyed by itself but will also harmonise with oysters or chinese duck.
