Assyrtiko is Greece’s most exciting white grape variety. It really rewards the adventurous Sauvignon Blanc drinker. This mouth-watering, fresh expression is made in Nemea by George Skouras, a man with a rich winemaking CV. He leaves it on contact with its lees for a few months, and this adds a delicate texture to its flavours of green apple, citrus and stone fruits. Try it with Greek-style roast pollock and roasted Mediterranean vegetables.
