Description
In 1879, two brothers, Eusebio and Raimundo Real de Asúa, founded CVNE. It’s still run by one of their direct descendants and based in the heart of Haro – the capital of Rioja. But far from being constrained by tradition, CVNE is known as an innovator. Take this Crianza. Bright. Fresh. Red-fruity. It’s a really modern style. It’s made from a single plot of their oldest vines – they’re an average of thirty years old. Fruit from vines of that age has a really complex flavour, so rather than swamp it with oak flavours, CVNE put the fruit front and centre, using stainless steel as well as barrels to make it as aromatic as can be. And of course, it’s ideal with tapas.
