Canard-Duchêne Brut Champagne

Canard-Duchêne has a regal history. It was a favourite of the Russian court – most particularly of Tsar Nicholas II. It was a fixture of the last glory years of the Russian monarchy and was granted the rare honour of using the Russian coat of arms on its label. But though it has regal origins, you don’t have to be royalty to afford it. Canard-Duchêne is a Majestic customer favourite – not least because it’s a fantastic value Champagne. The blend is Pinot Noir heavy which gives it its lovely red-berried fruitiness. It’s deliciously briochey with a real richness of flavour. Think ripe red apples, chamomile and a citrussy zing. Of course, it’s a delicious aperitif, but it’s also fantastic with seared or grilled white fish and spring vegetables.
