Description
Alain Chavy is the most recent in 200 years’ worth of Chavy winemakers, producing fine Chardonnay in and around Puligny-Montrachet. When he and his brother Jean-Louis inherited the family vineyards in 2003, they decided to divide them up, and Alain took on vines on the prestigious Clavoillons Premier Cru in Puligny-Montrachet. These vines were planted by his grandfather in 1953. Their maturity, plus the benefits of their clay-rich soils, make for a full-bodied, concentrated style of Chardonnay. Think flavours of apple and toast that are a delight with lobster.
