Description
The Gabriel Meffre winery began in 1936 in Gigondas. Today, it’s still in the family and is one of the most respected producers in the Southern Rhône. Head winemaker is Véronique Torcolacci who shunned a teaching career to make great wine. She has won over a hundred medals in the art since. There’s a method to the blend: Grenache brings body and red-fruit flavours. Syrah (also known as Shiraz) adds tannin and peppery hints. Mourvèdre brings complexity in the form of black-fruit notes. Try it with a tomato-based pasta or red meats.
