Description
Fortant was originally built as a barrel storage facility in 1877. It’s often used as an art gallery, with its vaulted ceilings proving an impressive backdrop for theatre and exhibitions. Its head winemaker, Laurent Sauvage, has rich experience across Australia and the South of France. The Malbec juice is kept in contact with its skins in cool temperatures for four days before it’s fermented into wine. This creates a restrained, elegant expression of the grape, with bright aromas, pronounced fruit flavours and smooth tannins. It’s then aged in oak for four months to add texture and complexity.
