Description
Alexis Gondard is a fifth-generation winemaker. In 2015, he took over his father’s 8-hectare estate, when he was only 19. His vines are up to 125 years old, and the oldest were planted by his grandfather. He works on them with a keen eye on biodiversity and sustainability, and he’s in pursuit of HVE (high environmental value) certification. This is a fresh style of white Burgundy. It’s unoaked so it’s all about the fruit flavour, rather than the notes of vanilla, butterscotch and cedar that you get from other areas in Burgundy. Try it with tender cuts of meat served in a cream sauce.
