The world-famous Hardys winery makes the Eileen Hardy wines in tribute to the great matriarch of the family. So as you’d expect, it’s the best of the best. In fact, ever since the inaugural vintage, in 1970, it has been made from only the finest parcels of Shiraz grapes. The fruit for this vintage is from Mc Laren Vale vineyards with an average vine age of 70 years. Old vines make the tastiest grapes, so this is chock-full of black-fruit flavour. Expect powerful notes of dark chocolate, plum, blueberry, black olive and cedar. This 2016 vintage won a gold medal at the Decanter Wine Awards 2020, and you’ll only find it at Majestic. Try it with barbecued beef.
