Description
Dr Loosen is one of the most respected names in the Mosel. The estate has produced Riesling for 200 years. But it was only in the 1980s, when Ernst Loosen took the reins, that the winery’s potential was realised. He reduced crop size and set strict standards, resulting in some of the region’s finest wines. The Beerenauslese – ‘berry select’ in German – is made with late-harvest grapes that have been partially dried by botrytis fungus, also known as Noble Rot. When pressed, these grapes produce a lusciously sweet wine with juicy ripe stone-fruit flavours and a long finish. Try it with creamy desserts with fresh fruits.
